Jacob Arabov Enters the Board Room with Sophistication and Class

As product innovation has always been the hallmark of Jacob & Co., it was no surprise that Jacob Arabov would begin designing world-first movements within three years of his first timepiece introduction. The Five Time Zone Automatic, the first of the proprietary men’s complications, was developed to build on Jacob’s well-known five time zone characteristic.

In 2005, Jacob the Jeweler Arabov unveiled this new direction in watch-making by combining his signature time zone technology with an automatic movement. The resulting limited-edition timepiece is striking in its simplicity; the clean lines belie the master complication within this original, world-class movement.

The Five Time Zone Automatic’s enamel dial is painted and embossed with special guilloche, with accents on the circular time zone markers in each of four quadrants. Roman numerals appear at twelve and six o’clock, with a date indicator at three o’clock. Leaf shaped hands in steel with a gun color treatment move effortlessly about the dial.

This revolutionary 24-jewel movement is ETA A07.111 with a proprietary Jacob the Jeweler Arabov complication controlling the principal and additional four time zones, as well as date indicator. The exhibition case back reveals an automatic bridge and rotor with Jacob the Jeweler engraving and bi-color metal treatment.

This 1,800 piece limited edition is available with a 47.5mm case in stainless steel or 18K white, yellow and rose gold. The Five Time Zone Automatic is crafted, assembled and decorated by hand to the highest Jacob the Jeweler’s quality standards.

Jacob the Jeweler’s Exceptional Grant Collection

For more than 25 years, Jacob Arabov has been building timepieces of innovation and remarkable stature. Now, the new Grant Collection reinforces the brand’s legacy in time and further delineates its dedication to state-of-the-art design and craftsmanship.

Evocative of a bygone era, the Grant Collection pays homage to the bold spirit of legendary leaders in time, and is the second in the collection – following on the heels of the highly successful Napoleon Single Tourbillon, which was released in 2008.

Exquisite in design, yet as bold as its namesake, the Grant Collection consists of the Grant and the Grant Tourbillon – both stellar mechanical timepieces housing Jacob the Jeweler Arabov calibers with hand-assembled components – each magnificently etched and engraved. Each Swiss-made timepiece has its own individual aesthetic and appeal. An identifiable modern classic appeal, the 45mm round Grant Collection is characterized by a high-polished case accented with 10 hand-turned screws, and by distinguished black or white Roman numerals against a gold or lacquered dial. As with all Jacob & Co. timepieces, the case is carved from a single block of solid gold formed into its individual pieces and hand assembled.

The Grant Tourbillon houses the Jacob & Co. Caliber no 6 with 127 hand-assembled components, including 19 jewels. The mechanical one-minute flying tourbillon features a sapphire bridge and the movement offers a resolute 72 hours of power reserve. It beats at a solid 28,800 vibrations per hour and is another example of Jacob the Jeweler’s ability to deliver powerful precision. The exceptional dial of the Grant Tourbillon is a striking two-layer feat, with the upper layer in 18-karat rose or white gold with Roman numerals and the much-coveted Cotes de Genève pattern. This dial is cut away to reveal the tourbillon escapement and a lower plate in a woven gold pattern. The Grant Tourbillon is created in a limited, numbered production of 18 pieces each in white or rose gold with alligator strap. This masterpiece of horology and harmony is water resistant to 30 meters.

The Grant is equally as sophisticated in its understated classic modern elegance. The watch features a sub seconds dial at 9:00 and date indication at 3:00. The dial is superbly lacquered in white, black or golden, with Roman numerals and inner chapter rings. The Grant houses the Jacob & Co. Caliber no 11 movement with 18 jewels. It offers 50 hours of power reserve, and is water resistant to 30 meters. Crafted in 18-karat white or rose gold, the Grant offers the perfect blend of design, mechanical prowess and unique character.
